Children In Need 2012
On Friday 18th November 2011 Guru Nanak Sikh Primary School turned ‘spotty,’ to raise money to help disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.
Over the course of the week, each class participated in various fundraising activities to raise as much money as they could, ranging from holding a cinema and popcorn afternoon, to going on a teddy bear’s picnic, to doing a sponsored pyjama party and many more!
The week also consisted of a Pudsey raffle and a very successful ‘Children in Need’ cake sale on the final day. This year, parents, family members, staff and pupils came together to make a ‘Guru Nanak Sikh Primary School Recipe Book.’ The book was a huge success and copies are still available to buy from the school office at a cost of £5 each.
The week was filled with fun and excitement and after everyone’s hard work and participation we were able to raise a fantastic total of £2541.87.
To celebrate the total raised by our school this year, we were very fortunate to be invited to the live BBC show and to the Winter Wonderland.
A big thank you to all staff, parents and children who contributed towards making the event such a great success! As a result of all the tremendous support and generous donations, our school has been able to contribute towards the funding of fantastic projects, which aim to make positive changes to the lives of disadvantaged children.
We look forward to fundraising for ‘Children in Need’ again next year!
