GNSA Secondary Governance
A message from Mr Kulwinder Chana – Chair of the Governing Body
As the Chair of the Governing Body I welcome you all to Guru Nanak Sikh Academy. I am honoured and proud to be associated with the academy and all the achievements that it has earned since the beginning. I have had an opportunity to work with all those associated with the schools’ success and have learnt that with hard work and dedication anything is possible. The visions of school leaders are inspirational; the teachings to pupils from committed staff have been reflected in overall high attainment results. The ambiance and ethos of the school is felt by all those who visit.
I am confident that every pupil has been encouraged to put into practise skills they have learnt remembering the virtues of humility and the need to serve others incorporated into their daily lives.
My gratitude to all at the academy, the parents and the community has no bounds; I wish all those associated with this institution every success for the future and will continue to humbly serve as needed.
Mr Rajinder Sandhu
As the Executive Principal I lead both Guru Nanak Sikh Academy and Nanaksar Primary School. I am supported in this role by dedicated Senior Leaders and work with the Strategic Board and Governors to set the ethos, vision and values for our schools. We all believe strongly in the Sikh Values encapsulated in SHARE, Service, Humility, Achievement, Respect and Equality. Our ambition is to educate young people to go out into the world and make a difference to humanity through their service to others. We are fortunate in having young people who are eager to learn and parents who support us in educating their children.
Ms Jenny Chadwick
Having worked in education for many years, at a senior level, I know the importance of providing quality education for young people. As an OfSTED Inspector and National Challenge Adviser I have seen some of the best and worst schools in England. I became a governor at Guru Nanak Sikh Academy because I admire the Sikh values of hard work and giving service to others as well as the way in which the school motivates young people to give of their best. As a Director I work with a team to set the strategic direction of the school and as a governor I Chair Admissions and work on the Standards and Curriculum Committee and also the Finance Committee.
It is a privilege to be a governor and have the opportunity to work with pupils, staff and parents to ensure we provide outstanding education for our young people.
Mr Peter Ryerson
