Pupils at NPS had the opportunity to take part in a Maths Problem Solving Workshop with their parents. This valuable session was led by the team from the local Explore Learning Centre and focused on problem solving activities which involved trial and error, probabilities and verbal reasoning of a task.

Pupils had the opportunity to work with a partner to solve a problem and were encouraged to use a range of problem solving skills to work out their answers. They were challenged to find alternative strategies to solve the problems presented and were successful in achieving the desired results.

Both staff and parents were pleased to see that the pupils enjoyed the sessions and confidently demonstrated their ability to use and apply their learning of Mathematical concepts within a problem solving context.

NPS received extremely positive feedback from pupils and parents following the sessions and we look forward to planning similar sessions in the near future.

Finally, we would like to thank all the parents who were able to take out time from their busy schedules to attend this session and support their child’s learning.
