Nanaksar Primary School believes that physical education is an essential part of a child’s educational development. We aim to develop a broad, rich and engaging curriculum offering a variety of activities to enhance skills in physical education. We aim to create an environment where young people feel included, valued, challenged and supported to achieve their maximum potential in PE.
Our Curriculum is based around the Real PE Program which focuses on challenging every pupil through their personal, social, creative, health and fitness, cognitive and physical abilities. Each half term focuses on one of these key abilities.
Through the curriculum, pupils will learn:
- To work with others, respect and praise each other
- Learn how to compete with self and others
- Learn to challenge themselves and learn about healthy competition
- Improve their physical fitness
- Develop agility, balance and coordination
Pupils also get the opportunity to take part in extracurricular clubs at lunchtime and after school. Year 4 pupils attend swimming in addition to their PE time during the week.
We aim to enter a range of sports competitions to allow pupils to compete against other schools.
